Kevin Johns will be leaving Northwestern to fill the WR Coach/Passing Coordinator Coach at Indiana.
Coach Wilson is really bagging some good assistant coaches. From a very well respected poster on the Peegs Football Message Board:
Wilson is perhaps one of the best schemers in all of college football. Throw in Pease, who's past offenses usually had a 60/40 pass to run split, and now Johns who has taken those kids that aren't as highly recruited or "starred" by Rivals, and just makes them dynamic in offenses. At IU, Johns is gonna have some extremely good talent. Alot more than at NU. Understanding the WR screen is gonna be a real key in our offense and our bigger WRs are gonna be taught how to block to run it effectively.
Two more to go on offense with RB and OL (that really being a key one). Really shocked at the quality of Assistants KW has gotten to come here. Really excited at this point.

He is rated by Rivals as the #9 WR in the draft...... Where is the Rivals mock draft?

Tandon Doss has announced he will be entering the NFL Draft. He is rated by Rivals as the #9 WR in the draft.......Tandon finishes his career at Indiana with 1800+ receiving yards, 13 TDS............296 rushing yards, 2 TDS............and 1,549 Return Yards. This opens up more playing time for big time WR prospect Duwyce Wilson who is bigger and faster than Doss......Indiana is loaded at WR so this is one position that losing a player doesn't hurt too much. Ha! "Losing Doss won't hurt too much." We'll see what you say next year. Who is going to be throwing to him anyway? Chappell's backups didn't look to good when they were in when I saw them.

Let me change my wording...it won't hurt AS much. Most objective observers will agree that Duwyce Wilson is a better WR than Doss with more speed. Duwyce will have a monster year next season.
As a FR, Duwyce 32 catches for nearly 400 yards and 3 TDS.
No idea who will win the QB battle between EWB and Kiel, but either way I'll be confident. There will be a time of adjustment...but the pieces around whoever is QB will be good (Bolser, Wilson, Belcher, Hughes, Willis, Etc). When the head coach is responsible for developing Heisman winners, you tend to be a bit more confident as a fan.

I don't think any of the QB's Wilson will be inheriting at Indiana are anywhere near the level of QB's he had at Oklahoma. Just sayin'...

Is Tre Roberson not expected to make an impact? Or is he a year (or more) away?

From an Indiana beat writer:
"4-star LB Zack Shaw from Ohio just told me after meeting IU asst. Mike Ekeler today that he is 100 percent committed to the Hoosiers. #iufb"
As far as Tre Roberson goes.....the kid will have his shot. But I have to think that guys with some experience will be given a shot to lose the starting job. Roberson is going to be good though......who knows if it will be at QB or some other position.
As far as comparing EWB or Kiel to QB's that Wilson had at Oklahoma...who knows how IU's sophomore QB's will develop.....but they certainly have all the tools to be successful (Speed, Arm, Size). Also it should be noted that Kiels little brother is one of the top QB's in the country, and he plays his ball 45 minutes away from Bloomington. Think he will be excited to meet the man that created Sam Bradford?
Anyways, back to my original thought...
Sam Bradford - 2006 Rivals *** QB (Position Ranking #12) Edwin Wright Baker - 2009 *** QB (Position Ranking #20) Dusty Kiel - 2009 *** QB (Position Ranking #45)

Well, coming out of High School they were all rated the same............you asked, and I told.
So at that point in their careers, absolutely. Surely neither of them will become a #1 pick in the NFL draft, but they will have every opportunity to be great under Kevin Wilson.

Haha!!! Brent Pease was the IU OC for about a week! He was offered the offensive coordinator position back at Boise and he skipped town quicker than he came. Looks like the Hoosiers are back on the market for an offensive coordinator indiana.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1174196

I woke up to that this morning..........Hoosiers almost got away with an incredible signing in Pease.
Either way........you still have to look at who the Head Coach is to realize no matter if they hire another guy or not, IU is setting up to have a great offensive unit. Don't laugh to much HIRG...........IU's staff is already more impressive than what you have at Illinois.
