CULVER, Ind., Aug. 2 -- Culver Academies, one of the nation's leading college preparatory schools, has just concluded the most successful fund-raising campaign in the history of American secondary schools, raising over $376 million over eight years with its By Example Campaign.
A significant result is an increase of more than $180 million to the school's endowment, making Culver's endowment one of the largest among secondary schools nationwide. The original campaign goal of $200 million was surpassed in 2007, and was increased to $300 million.
______
$180 M increase to endowment...That INCREASE is more than 2-3 MCC members endowments combined.

The Culver Academy coach left to take the job at LaLumiere in LaPorte. I thought that was an interesting move. But, LaLumiere has put a few kids in D1 over the last few years and basketball is certainly the priority sport (as opposed to hockey, football, wrestling, and basketball at Culver all being big sports).

LuLumiere is reportedly going to be the next home of 2012 big shot Hanner Perea, who is listed as the #5 player in the country for the class of 2012.
He is apparently down to Baylor and Indiana in his recruitment....but I think it's far from over.

I got to LaLumiere semi-regularly. Do you want me to say good things about the Hoosiers if I see him, Kyle?
Indiana is my fourth favorite Indiana basketball school. I want them to succeed over Purdue.

Congrats to Mark Galloway. I always enjoyed watching him play and it will be fun to have him closer to Bethel. I think this is a pretty nice job in the fact that CMA will house Mark and his family on campus and he will be just coaching and not teaching...making time for Mark to try to lure some basketball players to CMA. Can't wait to see how his future unfolds.
