Maybe it was Bales who thought Gabe was a slouch. No, that can't be. Dave Slater would know.

Bales was a transfer, if I'm not mistaken. Pretty amazing three-year career.

Bales led his North Judson Blue Jays to the states Elite 8 as a Senior in High School. In that year, there were three schools that are today classified as "2A" schools in the Semi-States. (Alexandria, North Judson, Batesville). That is without a doubt, a much bigger accomplishment than winning a 2A state title.
If just one of them would've broken through to the Final Four, I think we'd still be having our great State Tournament.

and Bales was a great defender, often on the other team's 2 guard--he was picked as the point guard on the Tribune's northern Indiana all time high school team (maybe it was best in last 20 years)

Wow... I'm amazing! If you make it for a NoonHoops game, I'll be there to witness the razzle dazzle.

Wow... I'm amazing! If you make it for a NoonHoops game, I'll be there to witness the razzle dazzle. Well I could be moving to Indianapolis this summer making a noon-hoops appearance much more probable (Indy's not close to South Bend, but closer than Champaign is!). I really want to make it up for a game or two and hopefully my summer schedule will allow it, but probably not until then. As for my game? Probably not at all like Bales. I'm more of a post who thinks he can face the basket and take his man off the dribble. Whether that's true or not depends on who's guarding me! ;D

If Cowboy draws the assignment just be warned that he is probably the best post player under six feet tall you'll ever see. Tough on defense. The only way you can stop him from scoring in the lane is to foul. Blocks out well for rebounds too. If he was 6 inches taller he'd be a force of nature.

If HUIRG stops and picks me up, I will guard him. That way we can make each other look good.

He can't do anything if you clip his toes every once in awhile..

Haha... QC, you know picking you up would take me 2 hours in the wrong direction! You've got a car and if you take the right one, you can get to the S-B area in just over an hour easy! ;D

OK, but if you move to Indy, wouldn't it be shorter for you to drive to HGTN then to Sbend? I will drive from here.
